Noah's 8th Year Birthday Celebration!

Noah is our extrovert.  And that is an understatement. He loves parties. He had been cooking up plans for his 8th birthday for weeks.  Here are the results in pictures.

I am starting to wonder if this tooth will ever grow in.

The Noahs:  Noah M. and Noah B.

Each balloon had a piece of candy...to get it--you had to shoot the balloon. (Because it isn't a good party unless there is a weapon involved.)
Noah planned several games: relay races, an obstacle course made from coconuts and palm fronds, and of course....
....Pin the tail on the OWLIZARD...because what party is complete without it! (Andrew made this for Noah per his request).
The Birthday Boy shoots first!
Omar and Noah (remember Omar...Noah's first friend in Nica!)
One of Noah's best buddies...Felipe.  These boys are two peas in a pod!
Noah wanted to alter a cookiebar that I make...the alteration: add M-N-Ms.

An Easter Greeting (featuring original work by Noah)

For several days, Noah has been on a countdown for two events: Easter and his Birthday. He is mighty excited about both! He came to me today and asked me to help him make an Easter Card for everyone. He wants EVERYONE to know about Easter and how important it is!

Happy Easter!
Love,
Jeff & Bethany
Andrew, Ella & Noah

P.S. Half way through the making of this card,  Noah stopped, got a drink of water, sat back down and said, "I feel like my brain is going to explode!"  The creation of this card was a labor of love for Noah!

Rest....It Is Mandatory

It is officially Semana Santa (Holy Week) here in Nicaragua.  We decided this year to get away for a few days at the beach.  It is quiet and peaceful and air-conditioned. A great opportunity to rest, relax, and be refreshed. In theory.

I am NOT good at "resting".  I really like productivity (like, REALLY), list-making and task completion.  It is kind of like a disease. It has been a challenge for me to just "rest."  Pitiful, I know.

Now, I know that translations vary, however, the English Standard Version of Psalm 23 says:
The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want [to make a list, finish a task, get something done for the sake of getting something done].  He MAKES me lie down in green pastures [since I don't lie down of my own accord, yet I need to rest]. He leads me besides still waters.  [embellishments mine]

This is what God has taught me over the last couple of days.

Post blog. CHECK. Just kidding!
