Greetings from Pigland
Over the last week and a half, the main focus of our classes here at "mission camp" has been language learning. Jeff and I are mostly learning how to learn a new language. We study phonetics, make funny sounds, gather skills on self-directed learning, practice how to work with a language helper, etc. The kids are learning different languages too. Andrew is thankfully learning how to speak Spanish. Ella and Noah are learning Portuguese.
Noah calls Portuguese: Porkeys. One of the staff here joked that Porkeys must be the official language of Pigland. Ironic, wouldn't you say...since he used to add "pig" to whatever we asked him to say in Spanish. Gracias, pig. Hola, pig. Adios, pig!!!
